Understand the Host Portal
Understanding how your Host Portal works will help you get the most out of Stays
The 'Host Portal' is simply the backend area of your Stays account that allows you use the platform's hosting tools and features. To understand how your Host Portal works, you'll need to understand the following three terms:
What is a 'Host'?
A Host is any Stays account holder (also called a 'User') who has access to an Organization. Whether the account is used by one individual or shared among a team, each singular Stays account itself is considered a Host within our system once it has created or joined an 'Organization' to start utilizing the hosting features within Stays. Hosts have different levels of permissions or "roles" with each Organization they have access to.
What is an 'Organization'?
An Organization is the management structure within the Stays platform that groups vacation rental properties under one umbrella. Every property, even just a singular one, needs to be listed within an Organization. Hosts can create new Organizations or can be invited to join existing ones by existing Hosts on stays.co. Organizations provide a shared space where one or many Hosts can collaborate on managing one or multiple properties listed here on Stays.
What is a 'Stay'?
A 'Stay' is another term we use for a vacation rental property listed on stays.co. To list a Stay, a Host must first create or be invited to an Organization. Once part of an Organization, Hosts can submit a Stay Application to have their vacation rental property approved and listed under that specific Organization. Once the Stay Application is approved, the Stay becomes accessible to all Hosts that have access to that Organization.
